‘T IJ is an egg-shaped bird hide situated in Scheelhoek, a nature reserve close to the Haringvliet sluice near Stellendam, the Netherlands. The reserve consists of large reed beds on the inside of the coastal defences and some flat sand islands outside. These islands are breeding and feeding grounds for several species of birds like the common tern, spoonbill, and the icon of this area, the sandwich tern.

The "Elephant World" in Kui Village, Thailand is an architectural project that fully considers the relationship between humans and elephant groups.

Kui Village is a minority tribe in northeastern Thailand. Over the past few centuries, they have been living with elephants, and their daily spatial design also takes them into account. However, in the past few decades, the local natural environment has also suffered extensive damage in the process of economic development.

Since the triangular "leftover" plot at the southernmost end of Anaya was positioned as a pet hotel, architects and homeowners have never stopped thinking about people and dogs. In order to avoid the encounter of dogs at unnecessary times, the corridor layout was avoided at the beginning of the scheme. Later, a staggered folding syntype mode was designed by combining the characteristics of independent and tandem, with a total of 30 boxes up and down, and the entrances and exits are separated from each other independently.

This not only solves the problem of too many encounters between dogs, but also creates a very different architectural design. At the same time, the opened houses are treated as stairs and provide natural lighting for the basement cafeteria. On the other side of the box, due to the presence of both entry and exit, some guest rooms have created a stepped down fa ç ade design to avoid the stairs, while also providing a basic framework for the indoor jumping stairs in the guest rooms.

EID Arch

In 2019, Atelier Ping Jiang | EID was invited to participate in the design of the Panda Pavilions to promote effective biodiversity conservation. The design team focused on environmental friendliness and animal wellbeing, and explored the relationship between humans and animals, architecture, and the natural environment. Based on the undulating terrain of the site, the overall plan follows the local environment and integrates four geometric circular spaces into the valleys, innovatively creating an interactive mode of harmonious symbiosis between humans and nature, and architecture and the environment. The Panda Pavilions, completed after two and a half years of construction, is now in use and has attracted visitors from all over the country.
